Teen counselling
For 13 to 18 year olds who need a steady adult in their corner who is not their parent.
One-to-one sessions for teenagers navigating anxiety, school pressure, identity, friendships, and family change — with parents kept usefully, not intrusively, in the loop.
This might fit if
- Your teen has gone quiet, or the door slams more than it used to.
- School avoidance, changed sleep, or worry that seems bigger than the situation.
- Something happened — a move, a divorce, a loss — and they will not talk about it at home.
- Your teen has asked to talk to someone, and you want that someone to be good.
How we would work
Teenagers can tell instantly when an adult is performing, so I do not. Sessions are honest, sometimes funny, never scripted — we might talk, map the week out on paper, or sit with something hard until it gets smaller. The work belongs to the teen; they are never reported on like a school project.
Parents matter here too. We agree the confidentiality rules together in the first session: what stays private, and the safety concerns I will always share. Most families also get a short parent check-in every four to six weeks.
Your first session
The first session usually starts with a parent in the room for ten minutes, to agree how we will all work together. The rest of the hour belongs to the teen. Confidentiality — and its limits — is explained to everyone in plain language.
